I believe her because I was there.

But there's always more to the story than just remembering the details and making it sound plausible. I don't want to be telling stories out of Sunday School to non-believers, since nobody gets anything for lacking faith but the whole point comes down to this:

• You can believe what you want
• Telling the truth is the best idea (almost always)
• If at first you don't succeed, eat all evidence that you even tried
• Then try again
