It has been awhile

Seminary is going okay. Retirement isn't in the works yet.The dog got fixed. He now resembles the cat in the same fashion. The cat has adjusted. The dog has problems.
But he is still cute. So now that the daylight is passing away earlier each evening, it is time to come inside from the driveway and wash my hands off so I can get ready for the holidays. The stroke slowed me down more than I've realized. But that's okay because I like having some senses, like pain and blindness, to warn me that the psyche test is over. I failed. Again.
Well this is nothing compared to what it might have been.
I'm guessing this time it's for keeps.

Man's Second Best Friend
I know I've had stranger pets like the skunk and Deputy Dog (I think he was psychotic) and the turtle that the kids thought was dead so they buried him. But this little guy came in to say hi, hopped back into the laundry room and waited for the Mr. Alexander Alouicious Anderson. So should I relate progress on the truck? It was a long day at it again but the overload springs are gone, the bed is almost ready to cover (I'm going to use OSB and paint it), John Watterson brought his grinder with the BIG wire brush, and I raised the whole body up almost 4 inches.

When I looked at it after I raised the bed in the rear and the cab, the doors, hood and fenders all line up almost perfectly. I'll get seals for the windshield and back glass then make a seat for it. I might have it on the road next month. So anybody up for toad legs?

Tiger or Something Like it

Now I need to find parts to put this one together. The kids at the Catholic Church behind me watched while I painted this. They got a kick out of it. I got a lot done today until I stopped getting a lot done about ten minutes ago. The lesson for tomorrow is ready. The tool box is back on the truck. Dave Mossburg ran me into the city for my amitriptyline and we looked at a turtle while looking for expensive dog food at Pet Smart. They want $55 for the turtle but he does like me. He's not for me though. Mr. Anderson needs a pet. I am like the turtle myself. I can only move forward if am willing to risk sticking my neck out.

Bike Frame
The fork is in the window.
It's nice not to have anything else to do besides spray paint cheap bike frames. Maybe I can get down to Shiprock this coming week. Lula needs her Airstream hauled down to Teec and I think she wants the Wagoneer taken to her sister's place, too. I could use a couple of trips over Lizard Head Pass this month, as nice as it is now.

More Kitty Litter

Why do I have a cat? That's really not a proper question because nobody has a cat. At least not like you could, for instance, have a cow. Cats have you. Cats have you like you don't catch a forty pound lake trout. A lake trout comes up from the deep to see if it wants to keep you. This all reminds that once upon a time a gal with a wooden leg had a mountain lion she raised from a kitten and she took it to all the schools to show how gentle a cat can be. We all warned her that one day that cat would start acting like a cat and she would get hurt. And sure enough, a few years ago I was asking around about the dizzy blonde with the wooden leg and her mountain lion, and I got the scoop. Cat attacks woman in her jeep read the headline. You know, I just sum it all up as bad choice in pets. People like me need pets like a fish. You can't kick a fish or even yell at it when it does something you don't like. You can't stroke it's fur the wrong direction and you certainly don't need to clip their nails as often as a cat. If there's one drawback to a fish they make lousy mousers. Unless you have one of those tame tiger muskies and they'll eat small poodles given the opportunity. But then again, a fish without a bicycle is like a man without religion and I've seen plenty of both out here in the west. I guess that's why I stockpile bicycles and keep a cat around for just in case.
